NT Waybills
Waybills record livestock details and movement information in the NT.
Completing a Waybill is compulsory whenever cattle are moved outside the boundaries of a property
It is an important part of the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) and provides detailed information which is used to trace animal movements.
All copies must be kept for seven years:
- Original white copy travels with the livestock, carried by the truck driver & given to the Receiver
- Pink duplicate must be sent by the Livestock Owner to a Livestock Biosecurity Officer within 28 days of the stock being moved
- Green duplicate must be kept at the property of origin

LPA National Vendor Declarations
Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) is a voluntary industry program. The LPA National Vendor Declaration (LPA NVD) is the main document behind this program.
Under LPA Accreditation, an NVD is required for any movement of stock – to processors, to saleyards or between properties of different Property Identification Codes (PICs), and must accompany the NT Waybill.
In the Northern Territory, the separate NT Waybill is still required for all stock movements.
- A copy of the NVD should be retained for at least seven years by all parties involved in a movement of livestock
