Welcome to the NTCA’s Futures Project.
Come with us as we walk you through five possible scenarios for our industry 30 years down the track.
Then, using these windows to the future, we want you to help us work out what we need to do now to mitigate the risks and make the most of the opportunities.
Your input has helped shape policy and determine a strategic direction for the NTCA.
The NTCA Futures Project was funded under the Federal Government’s Caring for Country Program.
It was developed by facilitator Ian Perkins, who has been working with producers and industry representatives for the past year collecting the economic, production, climate and social information needed to build the economic modelling program at the project’s heart.
The program is fully interactive, allowing for variables under the five basic scenarios to be altered and results simulated in graph format.
This enables the easy viewing of trends as they play out over the 30 years.
The aim of this project is to help the NTCA plot a course for the future and identify partnerships that can be forged for the mutual benefit of all land managers in the Northern Territory, including Indigenous groups.
